HOW TO TREAT SCALP PSORIASIS - MG217 PSORIASIS SHAMPOO PRODUCT REVIEW

SCALP PSORIASIS TREATMENT

Scalp itch has never looked good and is even more embarrassing when you are wearing a badass style but end up scratching or hitting your hair like a mad woman*laughs*. I am very much guilty of this and always attributed it to dandruff that just won't go away till last month.
I decided to try my luck and consult a hair specialist (Dabs of @Naijahaircangrow) After filling a questionnaire, I was diagnosed with scalp psoriasis and the MG 217 2-in-one treatment was recommended.
SCALP PSORIASIS TREATMENT- MG217

According to Web MD,
Scalp psoriasis is a common skin disorder that makes raised, reddish, often scaly patches. It can pop up as a single patch or several, and can even affect your entire scalp. It can also spread to your forehead, the back of your neck, or behind and inside your ears.Luckily for me the hair specialist had it in stock so I purchased it. It retails for about 4,500 naira because it is gotten abroad (that's what I was told when it was delivered). Anyways, I started using it twice weekly and in my 3rd week of use, I noticed improvements my scalp stopped itching like kpám kpàm ( Igbo slang for entirely). I still experience mild scalp flaking but nothing serious. It's surreal that for once since i had my big chop I haven't experienced itching for almost 3 weeks at a stretch.
I'll use it till the flaking stops before reverting back to my regular shampoo. This saved my hair because I was planning on cutting it all off.
Please try getting an expert's opinion when it  comes to issues like this. All along I had been treating and trying out products specified for dandruff not knowing I had something else going on with my hair.

KUICARE PRODUCT REVIEW

THE KUICARE SET

KUICARE is a Nigerian brand that makes hair products that can be used on natural and relaxed hair.
I purchased this product and some other natural hair products early last year from Bellz Nhcc because as at then I was suffering from severe dandruff and itching (that was what I thought).

The KUICARE set retails for 5,000 naira which is very good compared to the amount of Product you get.  It consists of 4 products namely; shampoo, moisturizing conditioner, leave-in mist and hair cream. It smells like cinnamons and reminds me of fruitcake.

THE KUICARE SHAMPOO

The shampoo comes in a 500 ml container. You need a sizeable amount of it to get your scalp clean. It relieved me of my scalp itch but the relief was short-lived. This was because I wasn't suffering from dandruff, I met a hair specialist who diagnosed me with scalp psoriasis so I get why it didn't work for me. I didn't like the fact that my hair felt very dry after each use so, I reduced how frequently I wash my hair with the shampoo

THE KUICARE MOISTURISING CONDITIONER
This conditioner didn't really cut it for me. I can't tell if it's because I have a type 4c hair or not but the conditioner wasn't moisturising for my hair so, I started using it as a detangling conditioner instead and it worked great for that purpose. It can also be used for co-wash (washing your hair with a conditioner instead of shampoo) but I tried it once and my scalp still felt like it had products in it so I never co-washed with it again.

THE KUICARE CONDITIONING MIST

This is all shades of amazing in my hair. It is my go-to hair mist. I personally prefer it to my homemade mist because it contains glycerine which I noticed makes my hair really soft and easy to handle. I don't apply it alone but also add a cream leave-in conditioner and coconut oil just to seal in the moisture.

THE KUICARE HAIR CREAM

I was really happy when I first got to use the hair cream but after I used it the first time I didn't know what to do with it. I used it as a leave-in conditioner after applying the mist but noticed that it kind off disappeared or evaporated from my hair when I stayed under the sun for a while. I still use it but it doesn't do anything for my hair.

If you are looking for a set of hair products that are affordable, I think this is a good Idea. Please know your hair to determine what makes it good or not before purchasing any product(s). Personally, the only products in this set that worked for me are the leave-in mist and conditioner. The shampoo worked to an extent but wasn't what I needed for my scalp condition. You can check out their Website to purchase or check for retailers near you.
Feel free to share your thoughts on these products with me in the comment section.
Until next time, don't be a stranger.
